A couple of friends and I, including fellow photographers Ricky Li and Dallas Nagata White, were fortunate enough to be invited to photograph Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she arrived at Hickam Airforce Base in Hawaii.

After stepping off the plane, the Secretary of State was welcomed with aloha by Admiral Robert Willard, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, his wife, and Colonel Robert J. Dague (Vice Commander, 15th Wing, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii).

Mrs. Clinton's motorcade then took her to the Kahala Hotel and Resort where she met with Japan’s Foreign Minister, Seiji Maehara. A press conference followed.

Clinton stayed in Hawaii for two days, before continuing to the the Asia-Pacific region, with stops in Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.
