This was a fun party. An old elementary school classmate of mine, Reiko, asked me to photograph the celebration of her son's first year of life. I enjoy photographing birthdays; I feel I'm being welcomed into an inner circle of sorts, and this was no exception. Living in Hawaii, the degrees of separation are so small that it's commonplace to bump into people you know, which I wasn't expecting. It's always nice to see people from the past, although I think I might have spent more time than usual, catching up with them. In between eating and such (so unprofessional, right?), I was able to take these photos. Enjoy!
